Painted on location in front of the Historic Encinitas Boathouses. These boathouses have always been in “dry dock” as they were constructed in place in the 1920s, as homes for lucky landlubbers! 
 
I consider myself lucky as well, as I am now painting outside most days. The amount of visual information available when painting outside is tremendous, and it’s just so inspiring to be creating amidst the glowing Southern California environs.
