The San Luis Rey Mission in Oceanside, California makes a fantastic subject. This was painting on a clear and windy summer's afternoon. I love spending time watching the play of light on the historic building - the Mission looks different every time I paint it!

This painting was completed plein air during the Oceanside Museum of Art's Plein Air Festival week.
