Painted plein air at Windansea Beach in La Jolla, California. When the waves are firing at Windansea you can feel the excitement in the air, and on the August morning I painted this the waves started out huge! It was fun to watch the surfers and beach observers and just be overwhelmed by the bottle green tones of viridian and turquoise in the shallows.
